Funded By Tanzania ECD Network (TECDEN)

Mtoto Kwanza is a six-year project in two phases 2021-2024 and 2025-2028, funded by the Tanzania ECD Network (TECDEN). The project aims to catalyze the implementation of Tanzania’s National Multi-sectoral Early Childhood Development Programme (NM-ECDP), which was launched in December 2021.
The project focuses on strengthening coordinated, multi-sectoral approaches to ECD, bringing together government institutions, communities, civil society organizations, and other stakeholders to improve the delivery of quality ECD services. Through capacity strengthening, community engagement, advocacy, coordination, and knowledge sharing.
Through the Mtoto Kwanza Project, Anjita Foundation has reached 16,1318 children, 6394 caregivers, 311,756 parents and 651ECD stakeholders through community engagement, capacity-building sessions, Council review meetings (CRM) regular stakeholder meetings, and Regional Review Meetings (RRM). These interventions have strengthened awareness, coordination, and collective action towards nurturing care and improved early childhood development outcomes.
Through the Mtoto Kwanza Project, Anjira Foundation promotes the five key components of nurturing care: good health, adequate nutrition, responsive caregiving, opportunities for early learning, and safety and security by working with caregivers, communities, and ECD coordinators at regional and district levels to create a supportive environment where children can survive, thrive, and reach their full potential.

Anjira Foundation remains committed to advancing early childhood development by strengthening partnerships, supporting caregivers and ECD stakeholders, and promoting coordinated actions that ensure every child has the opportunity to grow, learn, and thrive in a safe and nurturing environment.
